She died at 12:25 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2008, at her home following a long illness.
A native of Oak Grove, Tenn., she was born Nov. 22, 1947, the daughter of the late William Newton and Nancy Pearl Bowen Long.
She had served as director of daycare at Heritage Christian Academy since the school first opened.
She was a member of the Second Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Don Adair; a daughter, Becky Sargent, Nashville, Tenn.; a brother, Wayne Long, Clearwater, Fla.; and a sister, Mary Oliver Newman, Mount Juliet, Tenn.
