Bélanger, Lucien b. November 7, 1908 d. February 4, 1963 Canadian Politician. A native of Trois-Pistoles (Québec), he studied at the College of Lévis and at the Seminary of Rimouski. He worked first within his father’s company in Amqui before moving to Baie-Comeau in 1941 where he opened and owned a haberdasher’s shop until his death. At the general election of June 22, 1960, the electors of Saguenay sent him to the Legislative Assembly of Québec as their Liberal representative. He did not represent himself in 1962. Leventoux, Bishop. Julien-Marie b. November 8, 1868 d. September 3, 1946 Canadian religious leader. Bishop of what is now known as the diocese of Baie-Comeau. A native of Télévan, near Brieuc (France), he studied with the Eudist Fathers and was ordained priest in that congregation, on June 11, 1892. He then taught in the colleges of the French Eudists before coming to Canada in 1903. Ouellet, Pierre b. July 29, 1882 d. July 23, 1971 Canadian Politician. A native of Saint-Ulric-de-Matane (Québec), he studied in his hometown. He began to work in the wood industry in 1901. In 1913, he became owner of a manufacture of doors and frames in Saint-Ulric-de-Matane. In 1936, he moved to Baie-Comeau where he worked as general contractor until 1947.
