During actions on April 2, 1945, near Lake Comacchio, Italy, Corporal Hunter was in charge of a Bren gun squad. To save the lives of his unit, under heavy enemy fire, he stormed over 200 meters of open ground in the direction of a house block in which the enemy was situated.
