Vargas, Getulio Dornelles b. April 19, 1883 d. August 24, 1954 Brazillian President. He served as President of Brazil from 1930 to 1945 and 1951 to 1954. Three years into his second term in office, under pressure from the army and threat of impeachment, he resigned and committed suicide. He was 71.
