Hello! I am a 30 year old avid history buff from Mechanicsville Virginia. I love antiques and everything old-including cemeteries. I love cemeteries and do everything I can to make sure that those who lived and died in my Hanover County, Virginia community are remembered, particularly if their gravesites are threatened by "progress." You will most often find me traipsing through local cemeteries on weekends with camera and flowers in tow. Regardless of who they were, those resting in peace deserve respect, honor and to be remembered. The people whose names I've added to this site are not ancestors,much to my dismay in some cases, but rather people whose lives I'm fascinated by (they don't call me "Gaines girl" for nothing!) or people I once knew who had a profound impact on my life.
