Bio

I'm 66 yrs old and live in Southwest Ohio. All my life I have wondered about where this rare name came from and who my ancesters were and what they did in their lives.
Since the mid 1990's I have activly searched the world for answers. In 1999 I found the town in which my Great Grandfather came from in France. I then went on the internet and found Wackenthalers' in the International white pages for Alsace,France. I found a number of names and wrote to each and everyone on the list. I received 4 responses and was invited to stay in one of their homes. On June 6,2000 my wife and I flew to Alsace and met all of the Wackenthalers in that area. We had a blast and we even got our pictures put in the newspaper for long lost son returns home. It's now 2009 and I haven't been able to return. Since my last visit I've lost 2 of my dear friends; Alice and Cecile Wackenthaler. I thought that it would be a good idea to honor my deceased relatives to mark their names down and tell people where their final resting places are located. If you are a Wackenthaler we are cousins because there is no other name like that in the World.
