Find a Grave ID

Bio

Was the third born to Mary Margaret Dorn and F. James Dorn. Am proud to be their child.

My Granfather was a WWI vet and my father a WWII vet. While serving, my older Brother lived with Mom and her parents in Watertown, SD. When he returned, the family was reunited until he was called back to serve in the Korean "Conflict". My sister was born while he was gone in 1951. I didn't come along until 1960 but am so proud of both my parents.

For myself, served in Law Enforcement for 10 years, the computer industry (Gateway) for 14 and then a Police Science and law enforcement academy instructor for 18. Semi-retired since June of 2020.

I became a member here to add some photos to my Dads grade when he died in 2003. My Mom followed on 2008 and since, I've felt the need to "link" family members on both sides generations back so that their parents so siblings are associated with them. I'm grateful to Mom who gave me all the data on family going back to the early 1800s and have used that info to do the "linking" of family members.

This sight also enables me to take a trip down memory lane with older friends and graves I either couldn't find or were too far away. Memory of our past and links to it is important and helps us remember our "roots". I know so many others feel the same way.

Lastly, I don't know why the grave ID in my profile is what it is. Unfortunately, I'm unaware of this person and don't know how to edit it.
