My mother's family comes from the Carroll, Columbiana and Stark County areas of Ohio, as well as Westmoreland and Armstrong Counties in Pennsylvania. Surnames include Hunter, Cribbs, Bailey, Bollinger, Marsh, Unger, Mollenkopf, Wilhelm.

My father's side is from the area near the North Carolina/Georgia border. Surnames include Carroll, Pendergrass, Smith, Ledbetter, Ivester, Sherlin, Henson, and Murphy.
