I started a family tree when I was in Cub Scouts but as I grew older I lost interest. It was not til later that I started to looking into my family heritage. My dad had a cousin that made a book of the Ward side of the family. My Aunt Pansy was working on the Clark side before she past with most of her research lost in Hurricane Katrina and my cousin Loretta was working on the Mertens side. I would help where ever I could. I became interested on cemeteries when I visited a cemetery in Paris, France called Père Lachaise. It was amazing seeing all these grave sites of famous people. I began visiting more cemeteries including the one in my home town which has a Confederate Soldier buried there which is unusual for a small City in Kansas.
