I have always had an interest in genealogy since I was a young girl. Now that I'm older I feel more confident doing research. Most of my ancestors on my fathers side has been researched so I am concentrating on my mothers side since few people are doing genealogy in Japan. My ancestors from Japan are mostly from Kagoshima, Japan (South Kyushu area) and I have a little information. The surnames I am researching there are Nomura, Kuwahata, Shinohara, Tashiro, Setoyama, Arata, Uehara and Matsushita. I hope in doing my genealogy somebody out there will be doing the same family and we will be able to share and connect information. I live in Fairfield, CA so I'm able to take pictures of headstones nearby if needed. I will start transcribing information soon to help others find their ancestors as well.
