Bio

Hello, my name is Molly Youngs. I've always been interested in family history, I began actively researching my own family tree when I was ten years old, and over the past twenty years have amassed a large amount of information.

I was born in Florida, but my parents are both from New York; my mother is originally from Rockland County, and my father is from Chenango County.

---

Ancestral Names (that I am aware of):

Paternal:
Calvert, Cleveland, Cronk, Ellwyn/Elwin/Elvin, Frink, Giles, Harrington, Harvey, Monroe, Plains, Pratt, Primmar, Wells, Wiggins, Youngs

Maternal:
Burke, Clark, Commisky, Conklin, Cunningham, Devine, DuVall, Edwards, Farrell, Greiner, Hall, Herbert, Maroney, Mulhair, Munhall, Odell, Rittenhouse, Sands, Springstead, Thomas, Van Strander, Wickham, Wilson, Yeomans

-----

The farthest back I've ever traced is John Vass, who was born about 1430 in Wigtownshire, Scotland. The second farthest, Richard Stapley and his wife Katherine, who were born about 1445 and 1449 respectively in Twineham, Sussex, England.

---

Some notable ancestors and relatives include:

* The Reverend John Youngs, who was my 10th times great grandfather, led the founding of Southold, New York on Long Island. The town is part of Suffolk County, and both town and county are named after the place where he came from; Southwold, Suffolk, England.

* Louisa Mae Alcott, famed writer of "Little Women", is a distant cousin on my mother's side.

---

When creating and editing memorials on FindAGrave, I try to create a balance of genealogical records/facts and feeling. I generally don't create memorials unless I or someone close to me personally knew the person, however I do make exceptions from time to time.

In the case of my creating memorials for someone I didn't personally know, I will leave a message at the beginning of the memorial, seeking someone for a possible transfer.

If you inquire about a transfer and I decline, please don't take it personally. In those cases, it is most likely a close family member of mine, who I would only consider transferring to their child/grandchild/etc.
