I have always found wandering around a cemetery most fascinating. It is not uncommon for me to go on vacation and find an old cemetery to walk through.

I have many passions such as working with children at my church, working in my garden, cooking and cross-stitch.

I do take pictures and post them even when there are pictures already taken. That allows family far away see what the headstone looks like and allows them to determine if it is in need of repair or cleaning. I also post pictures of the funeral marker. This way families can see if a headstone is in place. I have been criticized for doing this. That is NOT my intention.

Just to remind all of you who have blocked reply to messages: I cannot answer your questions if your reply to messages is blocked...sorry.

PLEASE NOTE: I have been condemned for creating a memorial for a loved one before the person condemning me had a chance to add it. My question is how long should I wait? A week, a year, five years? How do I know if you will EVER create the memorial? Please don't condemn people for creating memorials for your loved ones. I add memorials to honor your loved ones not to create numbers. I add memorials as I see them.

I'll be glad to transfer your relative or acquaintance to you if they are not my relative. However, I would appreciate a request through the Suggest a correction...function on the memorial page. In it, write something like ... Please transfer because ....... whatever your reason. That makes it so much easier for me because the system generates and sends an email to me with direct links to the memorial, making it SO much easier for me to handle your request. I will not respond otherwise. I AM A VOLUNTEER! RUDENESS WILL BE IGNORED!! AND BLOCKED WHEN NECESSARY!
believe 'Find A Grave' is the next best thing to the real cemeteries when people are too far away to travel. Names would not be recorded into Find a Grave database, to be found, if not for the time and efforts of ALL contributors. It is the best way to give back to our ancestors, and others who are looking for family...Everyone deserves to be remembered, no matter how long ago they died. It is not about numbers, it is about people who came before. Their names should not be forgotten. It is about caring...Life is a gift, with deep roots...Someday, everyone will be an ancestor.
I think family should stay with family. The important thing is for the memorial to be managed and cared for by someone who truly loves the person that the memorial represents.
