Bio

I am Carol M Carter, I was born and raised in Alliance, Stark County, Ohio.

My Daddy, Rev. A. D. Carter was a Pastor for 41 years, He spent a lot of time in the cemetery. On Memorial Day for years we would go to the Memorial Day Program to honor the Vets.
My Daddy usually be on the program to pray. Afterwards we would visit with a lot of the people. We would walk all over and he would talk about the people who was buried and who they were related to.
Daddy would go visit the Cemetery just about every day after my Mother passed. His kids, grands & great grands would go with him a lot.

He helped so many people find out where their family members & old friends were buried all through the years. He was always telling people where to look.

I have been interested in learning about my family all my life. Hearing Family Stories. Now I am trying to find the background documents to back up the stories. This is hard but so rewarding when you get a break through.

I think this is a wonderful way to help others find out about their families. By making Memorials posting pictures and letting people know where their family members and friends are buried. Over time many people forget where their loved ones were buried.

My Oldest Aunt buried my Grandmother in the wrong cemetery in Pittsburgh. My Grandmother's parents were buried in the cemetery next door. Someone else told me my great grandfather was buried in a completely different cemetery. When I called the cemeteries in Pittsburgh I had a hard time locating where they were buried. I finally found them! My Grandparents are buried with 2 different spelling of their name. My Great - Grand mama Ida Eva Daulton and my Great - Grandfather William Henry Daulton/Dalton. He use to say he could cash his check just the same without the u in his name. (A Secretary put Dalton on his check she left off the A) All his legal papers had Dalton on them. If I didn't know that I would not of been able to locate them. The woman at the cemetery said the dates were right but the names were spelt different. I remember my Grandmother saying that they had to bury him without the u in his name because of the red tape.

I love using FamilySearch.com to look up my family members and friends.

I want to thank all the wonderful people who have worked long and through many hardships to make it possible for people who can't go visit their family and friends in person. Now they are able to visit the memorials online. And to be able to see pictures of the grave and pictures of the person. It will help everyone doing their Family History.
Thanks So Much, to all the hard working people who make this possible.
