My name is Mandy and im 23 years old. I was born and raised in the Boston area, but have been living in Orlando Florida for about a year. I'm on here mostly to pay my respects to those buried in unmarked graves at Danvers State Hospital in Danvers, Massachusetts. The hospital built in the 1870's was closed and abandoned in 1992. For 15 years it lay rotting in disarray. Now it is being turned into a luxury apartment complex. In the midst of the construction area are two cemeteries holding 768+ people who either died while committed to Danvers State, or were once patients there. I went there recently to pay my respects in person and was turned away until construction is finished. According to the many security guards patroling hospital grounds not even family members are allowed in at this time. So until construction is done and the cemeteries are opened again this is about all i can do to let those poor people know that some people really do care.
