I live in the "thumb" region of Michigan. My husbands ancestors are from the Mt.Clemens, Detroit, and Toledo, OH areas and originally Ireland and Germany. My family is all from southern Kentucky from the early 1800's, having received bounty land there after the Revolutionary War. Most of them were of English and Irish descent. I make yearly trips for research there.
