Bio

I became interested in genealogy when my father dragged me to every family reunion. I rediscovered genealogy in 1995. I have learned so much since then thanks to the internet. I was adopted when I was 9 years old, so I have taken on the task of doing my birth ancestor's and my adopted ancestor's genealogy. When I found FindAGrave, I was so grateful that I could get pictures of my ancestor's grave stones without leaving my house, so I decided to give back by becoming a volunteer. I live in Irving, Texas. I was previously a Private Investigator for insurance fraud, a lifelong Paralegal, a Texas District Court Intermediary and I am now a professional genealogist. I use sources for all of my work and don't depend on the work of others for my family trees. My Sturdevant Hunter Tree has almost 18,000 entries. It is Christmas 2020 and I am now 73 and not as able to walk the cemeteries as I once did but I do connect spouses and children as much as possible through this site so that our history will not be lost or forgotten. I list my name as Ruby Sturdevant Pender to honor that I was named after my grandmother Ruby Ann Hall Sturdevant and to honor my adopted father, Joseph William Pender, Jr. who is the reason for my hobby of Genealogy.
