Bio

I've been taking pictures of headstones and graves for about 10 years. It started out as kind of therapy for me, since graveyards tend to be peaceful, serene places where I could go and enjoy the peace and tranquility I found there. My first grave pictures were far off shots of the graveyards, or the beautiful trees growing there, but I've come to learn the valuable information that can be captured and preserved from the stones themselves. I enjoy traveling to old graveyards and spending the whole day there taking pictures of the stones, reading each one as I shoot it.

My wonderful husband has also taken up my love for preserving headstones through pictures, and he has taught me to walk the graveyards like a forensic photographer walking the grid of a crime scene, making sure that no stone is left unphotographed. I'm not above crawling under a brierpatch to photograph an undiscovered stone, and I keep a spray bottle full of water in my car at all times, for when I come upon a stone too dirty to photograph. :)
