I am originally from Edwardsville, IL, now live in Colorado.

I am related to many of the people buried in the Harris Cemetery on South Liberty Road in rural Madison County IL. My grandmother was Clara Maud Harris, her father was Elijah Dodson Harris, his father was Benjamin Harris.

Old Liberty School was across the road from the cemetery, now a home occupied by another descendant of Benjamin Harris. The home to the west of the cemetery was the site of the original homestead. The current house is the second built on the site. Benjamin received land grants written on sheep skin for the farm land surrounding the house and cemetery.

I entered a number of records in other cemeteries because I found those records online and hoped other people would find them and find them useful. I do not have a vested interest in retaining management of any of the records outside the Harris cemetery, if you want management of those other records transferred to you, I am happy to do so.
