Bio

In addition to being an avid genealogist, I am an archaeologist.

In my youth, I spent my summers volunteering at a county museum. As an adult, I have worked on excavations and that includes on the Texas Historical Commission's La Salle Shipwreck Project (See http://www.thc.state.tx.us/lasalle/lasdefault.shtml) in excavating the ship the Belle. That was a ship used by the famed French explorer Robert Cavelier, Sieur de La Salle and it wrecked in Matagorda Bay, Texas in 1686.

I also dabble in paleontology when time permits, where I have a particular fondness for ammonite fossils.

I have tried to follow in the footsteps of my ancestors and the paths their lives have taken, which led me to the cemeteries my ancestors are in and I photographed their tombstones if I could them. In turn, I have begun to share those photographs for others to see, reflect on and use in their research.
