Bio

I started seriously studying genealogy because I didn't know the names of my four grandparents. I was desperate to learn all I could about my family.
I also love helping other people discover their roots. I work at it full-time, and I hope to become certified soon.
I have many personal trees because my maiden name is rare in the US; most ancestors with my surname came from a very particular region of Slovenia. I am trying to piece together all the Slovene "Bavec" immigrants to the US (mostly US). I hope to compile a book someday with all this information. I also have started a genetic genealogy surname project website. And I especially love comparing notes with other genealogists.
