Bio

I have lived in central Iowa all my life and always had an interest in the history of my family. However, I did not actively start researching until 2000. At that time I was employed but always knew genealogy could be a full-time job if only that were possible. The pay wouldn't be much but the satisfaction and joy would be tremendous! Now that I am retired, I am finding that I was right -- family history is now my full-time job and I'm loving it!

My husband (another Find A Grave contributor -- Daniel Brandt) and I enjoy our annual summer trips around the country in the never-ending search for our ancestors. It's great having a knowledgeable researcher assist me when we are in a location where my ancestors lived and I in turn help him when we are looking for his ancestors.

I am also blessed to be living in the very county where my ancestors settled back in 1854. The courthouse is less than 5 miles away and there are over 150 years of records to check out right in my "backyard."

I love Find A Grave and have made several contacts with "new" relatives because of it. I have no problem transferring memorials I have added IF THEY ARE NOT MY ANCESTORS. You will find that most of my contributions to this website, however, are people in my family tree. I truly appreciate when other contributors are willing to transfer memorials for my family members to me.
