Since my first exposure to the internet I envisioned a place where you could go to take a virtual tour of all the historic sites and monuments in an area.

After the passing of his brother my Dad reconnected with his first cousins which lead to a long overdue family reunion.

That experience triggered a thirst in me for knowledge about my family history, branches of which, as it turns out, extend some 18 generations, containing some of the oldest names in Americas history, including my gggggreat-grandfather, Thomas "Yankee Doodle" Fitch, who is buried only a block from my home.

My new found knowledge, combined with my long held vision for the internet and a knack for all things "computer" started me on a quest to find a way to share the information that I had gathered with others like myself who were searching for their past.

I wanted to do it in a way that information was not locked behind a monthly membership fee… in a way that I could swap information with others that had info to share.

Well imagine my delight when I discovered that such a place already existed. I applaud this project and am willing to contribute wherever I can.

I currently serve as trustee for some of the oldest cemeteries in my area and have a passion for the history therein.
