Doris has been doing genealogy since her son was born in 1980. She researches Williams, Marsh, Tipton, Taber, Lider, Scoggins and many more surnames. One of her favorite ways to spend a day is photographing cemeteries. She currently lives in Northern California where she returned to be near her Mother, Grandparents (before they passed in 2011 and 2016), Sons, Grandchildren, and other family members. Her husband of 30 plus years, Gary, and her 11 year old Moluccan Cockatoo parrot that rules the roost, also moved to N. California. She has been owned also by German Shepherd, Ducati, since 2016. She currently volunteers at the local library to help with Genealogy, belongs to the Shasta Genealogical Society, and loves researching her family and helping others with theirs. She grew up in Northern California and spent five years in Alabama as a child and again as an adult. Doris feels extremely fortunate that her grandmother, Bessie Taber Lider kept excellent documents, all announcements from family events and had a world of knowledge on the family.Her grandparents (Father's side) (James Jasper Marion Williams & Sally Ann Marsh Birchfield Williams) are buried in Killingsworth Cove Community Cemetery, Madison Co, AL. Her great grandparents (Father's side) Nancy Jane Anna "Anner" Scivally & George M. Williams are buried near Plevna, AL at Miller Cemetery, Madison County, AL. Which she was able to visit often while living nearby. Her (Father's family) Williams ancestors lived in Lincoln Co, TN; Franklin Co, TN; and Madison County, AL.Many of her Scoggins/Leuter (aka Lider) and other Maternal family members are buried in or near California."I've actually been a member of Findagrave for quite awhile but can't find my old log in information." -DEWK....Doris E. Update: June 2021 I had to put down my beloved Cockatoo "Snuggles" and my husband died 08 OCT 2021. With covid we also haven't been able to volunteer at the library till recently.
