Bio

Retired. Professional photographer, Amateur genealogist, and formerly part-time LDS Family History Consultant, among other vocations and avocations.

It is my intent to be a collaborator with any and all who are researching their own or other families and so I will gladly transfer to you any memorials which I have created which are not for my family members. Just let me know which memorial you wish transferred, and what your relationship is to them.

All edits suggested will receive timely and in-depth consideration, especially links to parents, spouses, siblings, and children (as well as correct name, birth, marriage, and death dates) that the proper entries can be made to link them in the find-a-grave memorials.

It is not my intent to act as an antagonist, but I defer to the general accuracy of the Cedar Grove Cemetery records in most cases, and where there is a discrepancy, prefer to have links to original records, or other primary and secondary published records which substantiate the proposed edits.

Regarding memorials in Cedar Grove Cemetery: The original cemetery records sometimes have more information than is allowed in the Find-A-Grave page, particularly, parents, spouses, siblings and children - and occasionally, residence address at time of death ( and, occasionally, even employment, funeral home, cause of death, etc.). If you are researching a memorial in this cemetery and you suspect there may be more that is not on the page, please contact me and I will try to see if there is more on the original file. The memorials I have created are generally from the Cemetery records, therefore not usually copied from the stones, themselves. The cemetery records (and the memorials which I create) often have dates that are "near" but may not be "exact" and so may not reflect reality and should be checked against a secondary and more accurate resource, such as official county death certificates, published obituaries and so forth. (This variation is particularly evident in "burial date" entered in place of "death date". Also, spelling of names (Surnames, especially) is often a mixed affair. (Wolf, Wolfe, Wolff, & Wolffe for example). When searching, please try alternate and "creative" spellings.

There are over twelve-and-a-half THOUSAND burials in Cedar Grove just in the records immediately available to me. Research leads me to believe there may be nearly thirteen thousand burials in all (perhaps more). I have passed over those memorials already added by others with data from the stones themselves or from their own personal sources, but adding/editing them where possible with details from the materials I have . There are a significant number of burials in the cemetery which are NOT listed in the database, which adds to the complexities.

As of this date (October 21, 2021) I have added over six thousand memorials to Cedar Grove Cemetery. There were only a little more than six thousand memorials when I began. I have finished the records in my own possession of burials , up to about the year 2004. Cedar Grove Management informs me that there have only been about forty-five burials since then. I will contact the management and add those from that date, next.
