My Mother Roberta Henderson Paup descended from a pioneer Arizona family. Her mother Sylvia Lillian McComas was born in Silver City in the territory of New Mexico in 1907, the youngest child of Stephen and Elizabeth Jane (Swafford) McComas. She was raised on their ranch in Linden in the White Mountains of the territory of Arizona. She met her husband Leslie Maurice Henderson riding horseback down a lane leading to their ranch.

Sylvia's older sibblings were: Charles born 1890 in Sliver City NM, John born 1895 on the Blue River AZ, Richard born 1900 in Clifton AZ, and Myrtle born 1895 in Paradise AZ.
