I've been on this site for years, without having any issues with other members. Over the last few months I feel like I'm regularly making new friends or new enemies, and I don't think I'm doing anything different in my interactions from member to member. As a neurodivergent person, who has been accused of being rude without understanding what I've done wrong, I try very hard to be extra polite in my first interaction with any member, and once I think I've established a rapport with them, I tend to drop the extra fluff. This often goes fine, but sometimes I end up offending someone and get a message back that makes me want to cry. I spend days torturing myself over what I've done "wrong". Then I'm afraid to even send suggested edits to that member because I think they're reject them just because I sent them. Logically I know that probably wouldn't happen, but I can't help but worry over it. If you're still reading this, thank you, and maybe just try to keep in mind that not everyone who speaks bluntly is intending to be rude.

I started researching my family tree when I was 22 after two of my grandparents were diagnosed with cancer within a week of each other. It's something I'm very passionate about, and have continued to work on over the years when time allows.

I'm researching both my family and my husbands family. Family names I'm researching include, but are not limited to:
Worster - This is a particular interest and a brick wall :(
Wilkins, Berry, Decato, Wescott, Watkins, Braley, Bergevin, Roy, Kudalis, Holbrook, Curtis, Brown, Bagley

My family is largely French Canadian. My husband's family is largely English and Irish. We both have family all over New England.

I strive to make my memorials as complete and accurate as possible. I prefer to include a persons full legal name in the searchable fields and add "preferred" names to the Nickname field and/or bio. I will include obituaries with living people redacted, as that is now allowed by updated rules from Findagrave.

This is what they now say: "Find a Grave does not discourage the legitimate indexing of the deceased through obituaries or other third party accounts. Newspapers represent a very good source of information as a public record. We ask that those who index and memorialize the deceased from newspapers and other third party accounts do so with full respect of copyright, refrain from adding information about living people (e.g. survivors) to protect their privacy, and respond generously to the family of the deceased."
