Son of Leroy A and Dorothy (Wisewell) Wilton. Brother of Lorna (Wilton) McClellan. Spouse of Lorraine L (Shaughnessy). Father of (Atty)Lauren M Wilton and Thomas A Wilton. Graduate of Somerville (Mass.) High School (1955); at age 17 edited and privately printed a memorial booklet of his late father's poetry; first in his family to graduate from college (B.A., Tufts, on academic scholarship; M.Ed., Boston State; M.A.T.(history), Salem State; C.A.G.S. and Ed.D., Boston University). Teacher and school administrator, Stoneham, Mass., 41+ years. Principal negotiator (1964-68) to draft and enact the first comprehensive group contract for teachers. Btn commander's citation and trophy as the outstanding soldier in training USAR, Ft Gordon, Ga (1956). Outstanding Young Educator (1967). Research Associate and doctoral teaching fellow, Boston University (1975-76); dissertation at Mugar library. SHS Yearbook dedication (2001).
