Bio

I am a native of Haywood County, NC, and have retired from public education as a teacher and an administrator. I enjoy genealogy, crafts, needle-felting, reading, and painting. On my paternal side, my roots grow deeply in the mountains of Western North Carolina as some of my ancestors were among the first to settle the area. On my maternal side, I am proud to proclaim that my ancestors received land grants from King George. . . and later fought in the Revolutionary War. It would thrill me to make the connection of my maiden name, Byers, to the lovely country of Scotland. As it is at the moment, I am rich in English, Welsh, Cornish heritage and a wee bit of Irish! Rumors in the maternal side claim that we also have German-Jewish bloodlines. Contact me if I can help you.
