I have always been interested in history and my mother instilled a respect and love of family ancestors; she began (in our family) a tradition of Decoration Day. The Saturday before Memorial Day, her cousins would gather in Pine Knot KY to decorate graves. Mom tracked down graves for each direct antecedent going back to the family that left Virginia to settle in southeast KY in the early 1800's. My sons and I continue that tradition.

I have been working on our family tree through Ancestry.com for several years now. Branches of my tree include family names of Surrency, Ball, Carlton, Hendry, Moody, Wood, Chitwood, Perkins and Lay. Find a Grave has been an invaluable resource in my research.

I will be happy to transfer memorials for any person who is not my close relative.

Permission to use any photographs I have added is freely given.
