Finding my Browning ancestry is my quest as well as filling in some gaps in my maternal ancestry. My primary area of research concerns the Brownings in Kentucky (Bracken County), Ohio (Hamilton County) & Indiana (Switzerland, Ohio and Jefferson Counties) as well as Runyons, Scotts, Smith, Martins, Camps, Rucker's, Glascock's & Hamilton lines in West Virginia, Virginia & Kentucky.
My father was a Browning (son of Jesse Browning & Olive Camp) & my mother is a Runyon (daughter of Louis Carl Runyon & Lacy Scott). Both of my parents were born at Kayford, on Cabin Creek, in Kanawha County, West Virginia.
My fathers mother, Olive Camp, disappeared around 1946 after leaving all 9 of her children at Davis Children's Shelter. We never knew what became of her until 2018 when we learned she'd lived in Detroit for 20 years after leaving WV and had 2 other children.
I also have a research interest in the Rongnions my mothers ancestors of origin who were Huguenots from France. They arrived in North America around 1680 . I have lived in Ohio, West Virginia & Tennessee. I am currently a teacher in Nashville.
