I find my heritage fascinating and I am always looking to learn more of where I came from. My interest in those ancestors is more than just learning their name, birth and death. They had a story, and some have been very interesting and educational.
My maternal 4x great grandfather was a United Empire Loyalist who settled in Matilda Township, Dundas County, Ontario.
My paternal grandfather was a British home child sent to Canada through Dr. Barnardo Homes. He would go on to serve in both our great wars. These are things I never knew about while growing up. Other ancestors have stories yet to be uncovered I am sure. I have to find their beginning and ultimately their end, and hopefully in between.
