Bio

I discovered my grandmother's ancestor, Captain Prince Tobey, at the age of 10, and in the following months found a Mayflower ancestry for his wife, confirming a garbled family legend. Since then I've traced both my parents' ancestries back to both the Mayflower and to colonial Virginia.

I have a Master's Degree in History. While in graduate school, I stumbled across the 1776 congressional definition of "happiness," as used in the Declaration of Independence. In my master's thesis, I traced the 2000-year-old "family tree" of the Declaration. An introduction to what I found was published here: http://startingpointsjournal.com/may-resolution-declaration-of-independence/
