Hi, I am Richard Tuten, officially Charles Richard Tuten. I now live in the northwest suburbs of Chicago after living 58 years in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. My parents are Mary Frances Harless Tuten of Pickens county, AL and Charles Med Tuten, Jr. of Jasper County, South Carolina. The family names of Harless and Godfrey are my mother's side and the names Tuten and Prince are my father's side. Notable family burial locations are Crossroads, Baptist Church in Pickens County, Al which was started by my great grandfather, William (Billy)Jefferson Godfrey, who is buried in the church cemetery along with my grandparents,and great-great grandparents. Beaver Dam Baptist Church near Grays (Jasper County), South Carolina, is the finally resting place of many of the Tuten family including my grandparents and great grandparents as well as cousins and my Uncle Herbert Willis Tuten. Other family names include Entrekin, Cope, Hicks, and others.
