My mother's Wood, Ward, Birckhead ancestors and others came with land grants from Maryland after the Revolutionary War. My father is from Rainelle, Greenbrier County, West Virginia; he and his family relocated to Albemarle County in the 1960s. My father's ancestors made Greenbrier County home just after the Revolutionary War (Smith, Fleshman, Jones, Brown, Osborne/Osburn, Thompson, and other allied families). I also have ancestors from Pocahontas County, Nicholas County and Fayette County WVa.I would love to hear from cousins, no matter how distant, a cousin is a cousin.
