Bio

I was born in 1955 in Arlington, Virginia just outside of Washington DC during the Cold War. I still can remember the air raid drills in elementary school and civil defense shelters, Easter Egg Rolls at the White House, President Kennedy's funeral procession to Arlington National Cemetery, and as a High School Drum Major - marching in President Nixon's Inaugural Parade.

My roots are from Scotland, Ireland, Syria, and Finland. The Scottish side of my family had names like McGuckian; Irish names like Munn; Syrian names like Arbeene/Arbeeny/Shehadah and Finn names like Talvitie and Larm. My Scottish and Irish family have been in this country for more generations and are much easier to research. I am only the second generation born in the US on my Syrian and Finn side of my family. Researching genealogical records in Syria and Finland is much more challenging!

I enjoy connecting families on Find-A-Grave. Keeping them together in perpetuity is important. I put the family puzzle pieces together from a family tree and Find-A-Grave information. I want to provide the best picture of where we came from.
