Caretaker for Miller Cemetery ( self elected )
78 yrs young, Married to Barbara Lawrence since 1962
two children, 4 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
Found Miller Cemetery in November of 2009 and started to work on it after we found my wife had two aunts and an uncle buried there in 1917.
Our children and grand children helped with the inital clean-up for 3 days and I have been assisted by Mike Jarvis, Allyn Reding , Jerry Wininger ,Corey Reding, Jason Reding, Mona Reding, Buster Van Fleet, Barbara Van Fleet, Jerry Simon, Lewann Sowersby and Micheal Lutz .
Lewann Sowersby places flowers on every grave for Memorial Day and Jerry Wininger places flags for all War Veterans. My wife Barbara has taken pictures of all the markers she can find. We will be happy to send individual photo copies of markers if you will contact me. She has also provided the Jasper county records preservation in Carthage with maps she has drawn of the marker locations at Miller. This is a one and a half acre cemetery and we try to keep it in good condition.
