I was born in Raleigh, N.C. and received my education in the Wake County Public School System. I graduated from UNC-Charlotte earning a Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education.

I retired in 2003 from Union County Public Schools after serving over twenty-eight years as an elementary school teacher, working at Wingate and East Elementary School.

I am married to John A. Moore,Jr.,who is also a retired educator from the same school system. We have one son,Jay,who resides in Cary, N.C.

During my retirement,I have enjoyed learning more about the people and places that have played an important role in the development of our country.
