I moved to the Orkney Islands about 6 years ago. Orkney is located off the north coast of Scotland, part of the UK. I was brought up in Edinburgh, UK.

I started tracing my family tree about 2 years ago and only recently found out about Find A Grave. I was really pleased to find a photograph of a distant Uncle who moved to America in 1881. The details helped me with tracing other ancestors that I never knew existed. In view of this I felt I should give do something to help and joined Find A Grave. I have offered to be a photo volunteer.

I am happy to be contacted to take photos or do a bit of research if you have family who originally came from Orkney. Orkney has a fantastic Archive that is quite easy to search.
