Bio

After moving to Halifax County I became interested in researching the family tree. Much to my surprise I discovered that my roots run deep in Halifax & Mecklenburg County, and actually extend back to colonial times in Jamestown. I've spent an extensive amount of time collecting photos and various documents from courthouses. On Ancestry.com is the family tree and it's named "We're All Kindred Souls In Waiting." The ancestry names that I search most often: Barnett, Glassco(ck), Hite, Ball, Downman, Travers, Stephens, Mills, Medlin, Davis, Blanks, Slagle, Boone, Maddry, Lancaster, Clifton, Alford, Fuller, Yancey, Gattis, and Whitehead.

Walking through woods and listing cemeteries and it's interments that are in obscure out of the way places is an enjoyable pastime. It's important that they are listed somewhere more permanently and not lost to time. So in years to come when someone like you or me starts looking for their ancestors we'll have played some small part in helping them with their search.
