About twenty years ago while going through old family pictures and papers I saw the need to organize some of the material into something that made sense. The local family history center helped me sort out my genealogy. By doing this, I found that I had a lot of relation (some that I knew nothing about) buried in the local cemeteries.
Camera in hand, my wife and I started walking the cemeteries taking pictures of relation.
Then, about ten years ago, I got involved with the Union County Historical Society and started working on local history - some of the research which resulted in me writing/compiling local history books. It was at that time we again walked some of the cemeteries taking pictures of the gravestones of some of the early citizens of the county and Eastern Oregon.
In 2012 and 2013, deaths in the family on my wife's side, sparked my interest in family history once again. As I started working back through my pedigree, checking facts and adding new information, I discovered Find a Grave. What a wonderful place to find information! I joined Find a Grave and started entering the information and pictures I have and posting some of the photographs of gravestones that hadn't been posted already. At this point in time, I am mainly focusing on just my family and relation. If any of my information is not correct, please let me know and I'll change it, or if someone wants to add his or her own information, do so and let me know and I'll delete or transfer ownership of my entry to you.
I give Find a Grave Staff full permission to transfer any or all of my Memorials to whoever wants them upon my death. Hopefully this will keep all my entries active.
