I've been working on my family geneology for the past 30 years off and on. I've had a lot of fun talking with relatives about the lives of our relations and am always amazed by the stories that are told when we all get together. That's when family history comes alive for me. It's not about the gathering of names and dates but more the stories about the people that interest me. I do find it interesting how easy it is to find lots of information about one person or family and then how difficult it is to get past just one generation in another. I guess that's why it's important for all of us to share our information. With the advent of search engines and sites like F.A.G. the search has become a lot easier. My family research is centered around Arkansas, Louisiana, N. and S. Carolina, Colorado, Oklahoma, Texas, Missouri, Tennessee, and California. The family names I've been working on are Hales, Burnsides, Campbell, Cullins, Haning, Robinson, Mullaly, and Urie.
