Born in Lititz, Lancaster County, PA I went to public schools and enlisted in the U. S. Marine Corps in 1962. Discharged as a sergeant in 1966 I attempted college on the GI Bill and failed. With my military service out of the way I enlisted in the Air Force from which I was retired on April Fools Day 1984. Since then I have been a fund raiser, newspaper owner/publisher, columnist, genealogist, actor and National Park Ranger. I read, write and do arithmetic. I am a Rotary Paul Harris Fellow, Meritorious Service with Gold Star repicient from the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War and a Kentucky Colonel.
