Bio

I have been researching genealogy research for over 25 years. I love researching - whether it's researching my own family, friends or random strangers.

If I have a memorial of a person you are related to I will transfer within Find A Grave guidelines with proof/explanation of relationship - i.e. _____ is my grandfather on my mother's side, etc., not just I'm related to ____ can you transfer? DO NOT DEMAND TRANSFER! Ask nicely and you will get further. All transfers requested will be made within the 21 day time frame. Please do not send more than one transfer request. If outside of Find A Grave guidelines I will transfer with proof, provided I am not related to the person the memorial is for.

If you need to contact me about a specific memorial, use the 'contact manager' available for the memorial you have a question about. It's easier this way - because it will send me your message as well as a link to the memorial in question. If it is not regarding a specific memorial - you can send me a message directly on my profile.

I will not respond or engage to harassment, threats, or abusive comments or messages that managers send using the notes section or 'contact manager'. Any messages like that will be forwarded directly to FG support. Kindness doesn't cost a dime and will get you further in life.

I perform my own research and confirm any submitted edits before accepting.

AUTO DECLINES
- Submitted edits that conflict with my research
- Submitted edits that conflict with what
is currently on memorial
- Submitted edits in wrong field
- Causes of death in bio
- Transcripts of records added to bio -
census, marriage, military, etc
- Inscriptions with no headstone photo
- 'Unmarked' in plot field (that info
belongs in gravesite details)
- Punctuation after middle initial or in
plot information
- Family search trees as proof
- Ancestry member trees as proof
- Other FG memorial bios as proof
- Burial dates

If I ask for proof - send links to records, not transcripts. I have access to familysearch and ancestry as well as other sites.

FAMILYSEARCH as proof - if you want to send links from family search, DO NOT send a link to the person. Send links to individual sourced records.

I use the bio section for transcriptions of obituaries or a biographical sketch of the person's life. If a memorial has a transcript of a record on it - the transcript is from a previous manager and I haven't edited the memorial yet.

I will not add your name or FG number to a bio field for 'credit' of writing the bio or providing edits. You and I are not a part of their story or legacy. If a memorial has someone's name in the bio as writing the bio - I haven't gotten around to editing it or FG put the hyperlink info there. A person should be remembered and honored for the life the lived - not the transcription of a record.
