Bio

Although I've been intrigued with genealogy for 40+ years and dabbled in my own family trees before the convenient days of home personal computers and the Internet, it has been since my retirement from state government in 2015 that I've been able to devote my time, energy and resources to it. My husband's tree began by hand long ago, is now completed back to England and my father's European tree also back to England; however, my mother's Native American family tree has proven elusive and difficult. Parallel to genealogy, my time is spent as a Find A Grave volunteer, a hobby I immensely enjoy. My grave research is the Maury Cemetery which is currently at 83% complete and Mount Olivet Cemetery at 81%. Anyone who wishes to chat is welcome to contact me through this site, my email or Facebook account. (Note: If anyone determines that I've mixed up burials between Maury and Mount Olivet, please notify me. I was dismayed to learn recently that I erroneously placed some Mount Olivet memorials into Maury, so I've been back-tracking to correct my mistakes. I will apologize and try to do better.) In addition, I've conducted a little biographical research here and there and added it to the memorials for those family members who may not have Internet access and who might be happy to learn a little about their loved ones. My wish is to keep their memories alive so they are not lost to time. Like us, they were born, lived, loved, married, raised children, baked birthday cakes and biscuits, planted flower gardens and cared for family pets, worked and often sweated in their daily jobs, attended church services and funerals, joined clubs and unions, cared for their elders and one day they, too, were gone. Sadly, some were in their babyhood and youth, gone before their time. They are all precious to me and deserve to be honored and remembered. I hope you feel the same way. If anyone would like transfer of a memorial, feel free to ask. I'll be more than happy to do so.
