Bio

I am located in Lincoln, Nebraska, USA. I have been actively involved in researching the Vonásek, Svoboda, Heble, Husa, Fitl, Krikava, Sikyta, Zitek, Juříček, Pacovský, Zaloma, Hosek, Šístek lineage for a good number of years. DNA testing has helped in validating that my ancestors came primarily from Austria, Bohemia, Moravia, Czech Republic, Bavaria/Germanic Europe, Sweden & Eastern-Modern Europe. Of those that made the life changing decision to risk all that they had to immigrate to America, most of my ancestors ended up settling primarily in Southeastern Nebraska. (Crab Orchard, Sterling, Filly, Virginia, Liberty, Odell, Barneston, Wymore/Blue Springs, Wilber, Crete, Beatrice, Lincoln)

One of my biggest regrets in life is that I did not ask the right questions of my (then) living relatives or intently listen to their stories during family gatherings. Some of the stories I remember, many are forgotten and others have somehow changed in my memory because of the passage of time. I would encourage anyone reading this to take the time to document those family stories you have heard no matter how trivial they may seem...some day they will become priceless family treasures.

I manage the 'Vonasek Family' trees on both Ancestry and MyHeritage genealogic sites wherein I hope to put enough information together so that my children, grandchildren and future generations will come to know who they really are and where their ancestors came from.

I sincerely appreciate all of the volunteer work and contributions made to this site to help aid in researching our family tree(s). The Ancestry.com partnership with Findagrave.com has made things much easier in locating fresh information and connecting with history. As well, Newspapers.com has been an invaluable source of information.

To date, I have made a few contributions to this site and hope to add many more in the years to come. Lastly, I authorize anyone to use my photos/contributions for any reason.
