I have always had an interest of local history and my parents have deep roots in Brookhaven Town with ancestors buried in Union Cemetery Middle Island and Seaview in Mt. Sinai. I found the old records by Elbert Carter for Union and the updated research by Arleen Koello and decided to dig deeper by researching those buried for there biographical information. I started a Facebook page called the "Union Cemetery Project" and another entitled "Yaphank Cemetery", both are far from completed. I'm working on expanding the 22 historical cemeteries within the Longwood School district, thanks to the inspiration of people like those mentioned and George Moriatis and Paul Infranco
