Bio

Hello Many of my ancestors moved abroad to Canada, U.S.A, India, Zimbabwe, and Switzerland but they originate from the UK where I live. I am a retired teacher and now find the time to trace my ancestors all over the world. It is fascinating, time consuming but hugely interesting. I have undertake a course on Tracing Ancestors as I feel it is vitally important to get the information correct and note your sources. Adding details, to my ancestors, gives a fascinating insight into where I came from and why I am who I am.There are members of my close family who were not interested in looking into our history (or so they said) but it is amazing how interested they get when you find a nugget of information that no one expected. From an important Undertaker, and Carriage Maker and Stone Mason in Westminster London. To my husbands family who have one of the biggest Glaciers in the Antarctic named after them. There are of course the everyday folk who worked hard and earned little and inevitably those less desirable ancestors. All go to make up my history and the history of those on my tree. How often you notice that generations down people marry into the same family line and how the less desirable characters make such interesting reading. To all those seeking your family tree good luck, keep hunting and for people just starting - watch out for the mistakes that can throw you off course. Happy hunting. Emily.
