Bio

The lines I'm researching include the following.

Focke Peters ("FP") Meyer (born 1857) of Ellinwood, Kansas: I have information on about 70 of FP's ancestors in Germany, going back up to eight more generations, including FP's paternal line going through when the Meyer surname was established and back several more generations to a Gerdt Diekens who was born in 1621.

Anna Cathrina Brunsen (born 1853, wife of FP Meyer) of Ellinwood, Kansas: I have information on about 25 of Anna's ancestors in Germany, going back up to six more generations.

Hiskedina Tetjeline Siefkes ("Dena") Meyer (born 1903, wife of Fred Meyer) of Ellinwood, Kansas. I have information on about 120 of Dena's ancestors in Germany, going back up to eleven more generations.

(The ancestries of Fred and Dena Meyer come from the same area of Ostfriesland in Northern Germany including communities such as Detern and Filsum. Incidentally Fred and Dena Meyer were fifth cousins, once removed and the Meyer and Siefkes families have intermarried at least two other times.)

Franz Hildebrand(t) (born 1853) of Stafford, Kansas: I have information on about 70 of Franz's ancestors in Germany, going back up to eight more generations. While most of my genealogical work has built upon the research of others, finding the Hildebrandt ancestry in Germany was one of my discoveries.

Anna Marie Dorothea Drechsler (born 1855, wife of Franz Hildebrand) of Stafford, Kansas: I have very little information on Marie's ancestors in Germany, only the names of her parents.

Theodor(e) Burhenn (born 1849) of Barton County, Kansas: I have information on about 14 of Theodore's ancestors in Germany, going back up to five more generations.

Elizabeth Krug (born 1847, wife of Theodore Burhenn) of Barton County, Kansas: I have no information on Elizabeth's ancestry in Germany.

(The ancestries of John Hildebrand, the son of Franz and Marie Hildebrand, and Emma Burhenn, the daughter of Theodore and Elizabeth Burhenn, come from the same area in Hessen, Germany including communities such as Epterode and Uengsterode. In fact, the Hildebrandt and Burhenn families had intermarried numerous times through the centuries in Germany.)

Johannes ("John") Eitel (born 1895) of Bison, Kansas: I have information on about 40 of John's ancestors in the German colonies of Volga Russia, going back nine more generations including back into Hessen, Germany prior to immigration to Russia in the 1760s. I have very little on John's paternal line, only his parents.

Rev. Johann ("John") Balthasar Reh (born 1858) of Marion County, Kansas: I have information on 12 of John's ancestors in the German colonies of Volga, going back three more generations.

Anna Katharina Simon (born 1866, wife of John B. Reh) of Marion County, Kansas: I have no information on Elizabeth's Volga German ancestry though I believe she came from the Enders colony.

(The above Volga German ancestry primarily comes from the colony of Beideck, also know as Talovka in Saratov, Russia. Beideck was a Lutheran colony, settled by families from the areas of Isenburg, Darmstadt, and Hanau in Germany.)

If you are interested in information that I might have, please reach out; I would be glad to share. If you have any additional information on these lines which I might have, I would be interested in learning about your research.
