Update: I recently found my 2x gr grandfather James H. Buchanan's mother. She was Mary Lukes Suber who was in Jasper Co., GA. James was actually an Osborne and was apparently adopted by his step-father John Wood Buchanan.

I research the family lines of Buchanan, Parsons, Moffett, Hearne, Bagwell, Hardin, Franklin, Walker, Robbins, Buckley, Arnold, Cooper, Welborn, Mauldin, Dykes, Younger, Dill, Gresham and others. Most of these lines migrated from VA, MD, NC and SC west to MS, LA and TX. I'm particularly interested in finding the father of my gr gr grandfather James H. Buchanan b. 3/31/1821 Jasper Co., GA d. 6/1/1851 Union or Jackson Parish, LA that married Nancy Ellen Hardin b. 1822 Chester Co., SC d. LA that were married abt 1844 in Harris Co., GA. They lived in Meriwether Co., GA before leaving for LA in late 1847. My brother's Y-DNA matches with Osbornes instead of Buchanan.
