Bio

Like all four of my grandparents and all eight of my great-grandparents, I was born in Erie County, New York. I lived there for eighteen years, and since that time I've been in the Chicago area, with the exception of two years when I was living in North Carolina. I have been a genealogist since 1988, and have researched local history since that time as well. I love old photographs, local history, architecture, gardening, and travel. I have transcribed gravestones in several small cemeteries, and in 2014 I had a book published, titled The Founders and Early History of Geneva, Kane County, Illinois, and then another in 2017, 'An Illustrated History of Campton Township, Kane County, Illinois.' In 2018, I wrote 'Wasco, Illinois: A History,' which won awards from Garfield Farm and Preservation Partners of the Fox Valley. I am a former fact-checker for an educational publisher, and am now a private tutor.
